This play was a break through for me to write
combining many factors of my personal experience
and yet being a complete work of fiction.
Warning – this play is difficult to read
There were not too many people who were able
to understand the script, which takes place in
a rehearsal studio and involves each actor
playing ‘themselves’ and the character in the play.
Decima Francis, ex-National Theatre Director, liked
the play and has always wanted to promote it.
She directed two separate productions in Cambridge,
Mass.
The play began as a commission from the Women’s Project in Manhattan, New York Citythanks to Julia Miles who was never afraid of tackling big issues.
Part of the play, which is about female circumcision
was commissioned by Julia Miles of the Womens’
Project, NYC. and was performed at her theatre.
