The  film clip on the Home page features William French as William Patrick Hitler, Jean Trench as Marie and Karen Sweet as Geli Raubal at Bridge Lane Theatre, London, directed by Terry Adams.

Before any productions the play won a place at the Eugene O’Neill Theatre Conference and was.optioned as a screenplay.  There are several versions of the play.

My original one-act AUNTY AND ADOLF won me first place in Playwrights As Thinkers in Boston, as a play about the origin of prejudice.

When I was resident playwright at the Double Image Theater in New York City,  the title was changed to THE HOUSEKEEPER and it was produced in New York City.

When the show opened in New York some critics who knew nothing about my research claimed I’d ‘made it up’.  This was before the many newspaper articles confirming the story. The most exciting event was meeting an elderly gentleman who had known Patrick Hitler in the U.S. Army and who liked the play.  Wallace Shawn, the actor, gave me a good review.

The play was subsequently featured in the Brighton Festival with Anne MacMilian as Angela Hitler, before it finally produced by Bridge Lane Theatre with Hildegaard Neill playing the title role.
