Nuncle
NUNCLE is my homage to Shakespeare and of course KING LEAR. I had great fun bastardizing his texts to provide my play with his poetic language. Unfortunately I was unable to produce another Shakespearean masterpiece but the show was greatly enjoyed by the actors (who got to speak the bard’s lines) while the audience tries to guess which play I’ve purloined. The play proves amble evidence of how eloquently Shakespeare argues against father/daughter incest.
It was performed for two weeks at the Nightingale Theatre, Brighton Festival under the direction of Dave Erdos with a talented cast headed by Jon Croft as King Lear.
