You Can’t Leave Half Way Through/Having A Life

This was my first comedy. It won me a place at the Midwest Playwrights Conference where I was mentored by Dale Wasserman (Don Quiote and One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest)  The subsequent rewrite won me the Massachusetts Playwrights Fellowship and it was produced at the Alley Theater in Cambridge.   David Moore directed and he became our Playwrights’ Platform Co-ordinator for many years before being head-hunted to the Midwest Playwrights Center
I was bitterly disappointed when I discovered there was a Broadway musical which followed exactly the same plot line as my play, but plots can not be copyrighted.
As a result I turned the story into my first and only screenplay, CRAZY BUT STABLE.  This was optioned by Viacom, who chose to produce a higher concept piece about Jack the Ripper.
The screenplay rewrite is called YOU CAN’T LEAVE HALF-WAY THROUGH

Having A Life set
